Redirection Points

If a runner fails to reach an Aid Station Cut Off time, runners have the option to continue by taking one of the detours outlined below to ‘skip’ a small section of the course.

The below Redirection Points from 2023 give an indication of how this works. The exact 2024 Redirection Points will be finalised as soon as the route is confirmed with all our landholders.

Redirection Point 1: Participants that miss Aid Station 1 Cut-Off will be redirected here.

Location: Mrs Macquarie Chair Loop – instead of turning left and completing the Mrs Macquarie Chair loop, participants will turn left immediately on Mrs Macquarie Rd before rejoining the course

Race Distance: 28km

Distance skipped: 1.5km

Redirection Point 2: Participants that miss Aid Station 2 Cut-Off will be redirected here.

Location: Middle Head Loop - instead of turning right and completing the Middle Head loop, participants will exit Georges Head Track, head straight across Middle Head Rd, rejoining the course and heading straight down to Balmoral Beach

Race Distance: 51.5km

Distance skipped: 2.75km

Redirection Point 3: Participants that miss Aid Station 4 Cut-Off will be redirected here.

Location: North Head Loop – instead of tackling the Little Manly and North Head section, participants will be redirected at Aid Station 4, turning left onto Ashburner St,

right onto Darley road, veer left onto Bluefish Rd, before rejoining the course at Shelly Beach walking track

Race Distance: 72km

Distance skipped: 5.5km

Any participant that misses Aid Station 3 cut-off will be warned to increase speed or risk missing Aid Station 4 Cut-Off.
