RELAY

The Relay option divides the 80km Ultra from Bondi Beach to Manly Beach into four legs, roughly 20km each.

It’s a great challenge to do with friends or colleagues – an excuse to train together and keep motivated over winter. Gather your community to do something fun and unique in Sydney.

  • LEG 1 RELAY RUNNERS

Please arrive at Bondi Beach 1 hour prior to your start time.

    LEG 2-4 RELAY RUNNERS

RELAY runners not running the first leg are not required to be at the Bondi start on event morning. All relay participants can head straight to their allocated start Aid Station to warm up.

Please arrive at least 1 hour before your previous runner is expected. You don't want them to get to an empty Aid Station and have noone to hand over to!

How to know when a runner is expected:

    - Plan ahead. Find out each others average 20km running pace. This will give you a general idea of when you should be ready.

    - Follow their progress in the Bondi to Manly Ultra App or use 'Find my Friends' on Apple, or 'Share Live Location' in a group chat on WhatsApp

  • There are 4 Aid Stations on course, at 20km, 40km, 60km and 70km.

There are 3 additional water stations on course at 10km, 30km and 50km.

RUNNER TRANSITION

RUNNER TRANSITION

How does the RELAY runner transition work?

Keep an eye on the alerts (either Bondi to Manly app or set up Find my Friend on Apple or Share Live Location in a group chat on WhatsApp) to identify when your teammate will be completing their section.

When your teammate is nearby, move to the RELAY transition area at the relevant
Aid station.

Listen to the RELAY Transition Manager – they will call out your team number as they
pass the timing antenna, approximately 300m away.

Runners should enter the relay change-over pen before their team mate arrives.

Your time will start when you cross the start time mat located in the chute kicking
off the next leg.
