Travel by Public Transport between Relay Legs

The following recommendations are based off everyone being able to make their way to Circular Quay in Sydney’s CBD.

  • Manly to Bondi early morning shuttle bus

    Departing: 03:45

    Departure location: Belgrave St. Manly Stand E

    Please pre-purchase your ticket on Race Roster. Please note, you must pre-purchase a ticket to have a guaranteed spot.

    For all public transport options to Bondi Beach for the start line, please use https://transportnsw.info to plan your trip.

  • Getting there: 324 bus from Wynyard Station or 325 bus from Edgecliff Station

    Getting back: Ferry Rose Bay to Circular Quay (CQ)

    Getting to finish line: Ferry CQ to Manly

  • Getting there: Ferry to North Sydney Wharf or train to Milsons Point then 600m walk

    Getting back: Ferry or bus back to CQ

    Getting to the finish line: Ferry CQ to Manly.

    ** Milson Park has very little street parking so we strongly recommend you don’t plan to drive. If you do plan to drive, please plan to be dropped off near Milsons Point Station and walk down.

  • Getting there and back: Ferry or bus to Manly

    Then take the free shuttle bus from Stand E, Belgrave Street, Manly.The shuttle runs every 30 minutes from 8am to 5pm taking Leg 4 runners to Aid Station 3 and bringing Leg 3 runners back from Clontarf to Manly every alternate 30 minutes from 8:15 to 4:45pm.

    You can walk from here to the finish line.

When to arrive to the start of your Leg

We ask that you come to the start of your relay leg 1 hour before you expect the next runner to arrive.

How to know?

  • Use their expected average pace to work out a rough time of arrival

  • Use the Bondi to Manly Ultra App to follow their progress along the route

  • Or use ‘Find My Friends’ on Apple or Share Live Location in a group chat on WhatsApp.

Runner Transition

Course Cut Offs + How it impacts you

If the previous runner in your relay team isn’t going to make the Course Cut Off time - you will still run!

You’ll take off 10-15 minutes before the cut off time.

Course Cut Offs for relay legs are:

  • Leg 1 at Lyne Park, Rose Bay: 9:00am

  • Leg 2 at Milson Park, North Sydney: 12:20pm

  • Leg 3 at Clontarf Reserve: 4:20pm

Collecting Bibs and/or Cups

Anyone in your Team can collect your bib and/or cup in Manly (21 Oct) or next Friday (27 Oct) in Bondi.

If you need to collect your bib and/or cup on race day:

Leg 1 runners - please visit the registration tent at the start line in Bondi.

Leg 2, 3 or 4 runners - please head directly to the registration desk at the start of your allocated leg at least 1 hour before your team member is expected to arrive.

If you organised postage and it hasn’t arrived - collect everything on race day as above.

  • FIRST LEG

    The first leg is from Bondi Beach to Lyne Park in Rose Bay.

    Start at Bondi Beach as the sun rises, then run the cliffs along Dover Heights, around Watsons Bay and South Head, then along the spectacular Hermitage Foreshore Walk to Lyne Park in Rose Bay.

    This leg is 19 km

    It has 329m elevation gain

  • SECOND LEG

    The second leg is from Lyne Park in Rose Bay to Milson Park, North Sydney.

    This leg has all the big-ticket items to write home about. From Lyne Park, Rose Bay, pass some of the most spectacular homes in Sydney, through Rushcutters Bay, around the Royal Botanic Garden and Sydney Opera House then over the Sydney Harbour Bridge before finishing at Milson Park, North Sydney.

    This leg is 20 km

    It has 360m elevation gain

  • THIRD LEG

    The third leg is from Milson Park, North Sydney to Clontarf Reserve, Clontarf. The longest leg covering some incredible trails. Hug the coastline around Cremorne Point then through giant red gum forests around Bradleys Head and Gubbah Gubbah, finishing at the stunning Clontarf Reserve in Clontarf.

    This leg is 23 km

    It has 326m elevation gain

  • FOURTH LEG

    The fourth and final leg is from Clontarf Reserve, Clontarf to Manly Beach via North Head.

    Don’t underestimate this leg. It might be the shortest but it’s one of the toughest with undulating terrain. It runs the famous Spit to Manly route then passes 200m from the finish line, passing Manly Wharf and heading uphill and around North Head Sanctuary for spectacular views back across the harbour.

    It has 256m elevation gain
